I’m a West Park High School parent, attorney, small business owner, and public servant. I’m running to keep education first, plan responsibly for growth, and prepare students for their future after high school.

Meet Jeresia Ewell

As a parent with a freshman at West Park High School and a sixth grader at Chilton Middle School, I understand how much school board decisions matter to our families. I bring more than 17 years of public service and experience as an attorney and business owner. I’ll listen to our community, ask hard questions, and be a responsive voice on the board.

Every student deserves a safe, supportive, high-quality education. If elected, I will focus on three priorities, with student needs guiding every decision.

Education First

Keep student wellness, safety, and academic achievement at the center of every decision. Support opportunities that help every student succeed, with education—not partisan politics—guiding our work.

Plan Responsibly for Growth

Prepare for growing enrollment with planning that goes beyond classrooms—from staffing and student support to course access, parking, and athletics. Families deserve clear communication and a responsive voice as our schools grow.

Prepare Students for a Changing Workforce

Strengthen opportunities for success after graduation through Career Technical Education, dual enrollment, and pathways to college and careers. Help students develop the critical thinking and problem-solving skills they need for what comes next.

Leadership Begins
with Listening

While meeting with parents, students, and community members, I have heard a consistent concern: “I don’t feel heard.” Listening means creating opportunities for meaningful dialogue and making sure people know their voices matter.

If elected, I will be accessible and responsive, listen to all perspectives, ask hard questions, and communicate clearly. Before decisions are made, I believe school boards should hear from the people affected by them and keep students’ best interests at the center of every discussion.

Whether or not you have children in our schools, their success matters to our community. Today’s students are tomorrow’s employees, business owners, first responders, and community leaders.
